Mixed-Age Kindergarten

2025-26 Enrollment Update:
Enrollment for the 2025–26 Mixed-Age Kindergarten is currently full, with a waitlist.

Enrollment for 2026–27:

  • Priority enrollment for inhouse applications runs November 1 – December 31, 2025 for current families, alumni families, and families participating in our Parent-Child Program (although not guaranteed).

  • Applications from the general community are accepted beginning January 1, 2026.

  • A $100 deposit is required to submit a new application.

  • Families will be asked indicate their first and second choice of program schedule - three, four, or five days per week.

  • Space is extremely limited as our program is very small. We encourage families to apply early.

  • A tour of the Kindergarten Program is required before acceptance. Please contact the office at info@westbrooknatureschool.org to request a tour.
  • Once enrollment is full, we maintain a waitlist. (Waitlists do not carry over from year to year.)

Licensing & Requirements:

  • Westbrook Nature School is a group child care home licensed by the State of CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC). As such, all children are required to be compliant with state health regulations & immunization requirements.
  • To align with Connecticut’s updated state guidelines (as of July 1, 2023), children must be 3 years old by September 1st to enroll in Westbrook’s Mixed-Age Kindergarten Program.
  • All children must be potty trained by the start of school.

Please note: At Westbrook, our goal is to give children the fullest experience possible in our kindergarten program. For this reason, when admitting new families, we give priority to children who will be three years old by the start of the school year, since they are able to spend two full years in the program and grow with us over time. Therefore, space for four-year-olds or children who have turned four just prior to the start of the school year may be limited. This policy helps us provide consistency for families and ensures that children benefit from the complete Westbrook experience. Among other considerations, we also take into account additional factors as part of our admissions process.
